Are you preparing for a big exam? Looking for something to help boost your studying habits? Well, you’ve come to the right place. Studies have shown that substances found in lion's mane mushrooms may aid in nerve growth. Consuming lion's mane mushrooms has been linked in certain studies to improve cognitive and memory functions. Additionally, it might aid in preventing dementias like Alzheimer's and others. But of course, more study is required.

Lion’s Mane Mushroom Improves Brain Function

Previous studies have shown that the chemicals hericenones and erinacines, which are found in lion's mane mushrooms, can stimulate the growth of brain cells in lab trials. In principle, this could help especially those who suffer from neurological disorders. According to the study, adults who took four lion's mane tablets (250 mg) three times a day for 16 weeks had a notable improvement in their cognitive performance as opposed to those who did not.

How to Use Lion’s Mane

The lion's mane mushroom can be consumed raw as a food ingredient or taken as a supplement in the form of capsules or powder. The mild flavour of lion's mane mushroom makes it a versatile ingredient in cooking. It can be added as a supplemental powder to coffee or tea, or used as a plant-based meat alternative.

Additionally, stews and other savoury meals like hot chocolate can be made with lion's mane powder. Add some boiling water to the powdered or pieced mushrooms to make a tea.
